FCC-15 / Reverse Polarity Connectors

(FCC Regulation 15)

Have You Been Disconnected By Regulation 15 of the FCC?
If you are not familiar with this regulation, please allow us to provide you with a brief description. According to the FCC, under certain applications, it is illegal to replace a stock antenna with one that provides high gain. In order to prevent this from happening, the FCC has issued an edict that calls for a unique connector thereby prohibiting the attachment of any other type of connector.

Reverse polarity connectors can be fabricated in most popular styles such as SMA, BNC, and TNC. Basically, a reverse polarity connector is a connector that has the insides exchanged with its mating connector. For example, a male SMA would have the insides of a female SMA and visa versa.
